Breast Pumps

Symphony® Breastpump (Rental)

Our Price: $49.95 per month plus a one time purchase of the breast pump kit for $39.95

Symphony is Medela's latest innovation in hospital-grade electric double pumps and is available for moms to rent. Rental pumps are ideal for moms who have a medical need or who want to use the same pump used in hospitals.

Medela initiated extensive research on electric breastpumps for the development of the Symphony, led by internationally renowned lactation researcher, Dr. Peter Hartmann, Ph.D.

Featuring the original 2-Phase Expression® technology – found only in Medela breastpumps.
Babies breastfeed in 2 phases:
1. Stimulation Phase – when babies first go to breast, they suck fast and light to start milk flowing.

2. Expression Phase – after milk flow or “let-down” starts, babies breastfeed with a slower, deeper suck, bringing out more milk faster.

With this technology, Symphony is proven to reduce pumping time through faster let-down and milk flow and to remove as much milk as a breastfeeding baby.

Pump In Style® Advanced (Purchase)

Our Price: $269.00

Pump In Style Advanced is a daily use breastpump designed for moms who pump several times a day.  All Pump In Style Advanced breastpumps offer portable convenience for quiet, discreet pumping anywhere.

Available in three bag styles: On-the-go Tote, Backpack and The Metro Bag™.

Featuring the original 2-Phase Expression® technology - only found in Medela breastpumps. Through research, Medela learned that there are two distinct phases of how babies breastfeed.

  1. Stimulation Phase - when babies first go to breast, they suck fast and light to stimulate milk flow.
  2. Expression Phase - after milk flow or "let-down" starts, babies breastfeed with a slower, deeper suck, bringing out more milk faster.

Could You Have Sleep Apnea? | April 2013

Does your snoring raise the dead—or at least prompt a swift kick? Has your partner or spouse said that you gasp or snort, or make choking sounds while asleep? Are you finding yourself way too drowsy during the day, despite getting a "good night's sleep"?

Service Kids in Progress (SKIP)

Bon Air Elementary SKIP (Service Kids in Progress) is conducting a children’s book drive from February 17th to March 10th. The kids are asking for donations of gently used (or new) books to redistribute to elementary school students in area schools that need summer reading materials. It is so important that kids continue to read throughout the summer months, and the Bon Air SKIP kids want to help make that happen. On February 13th, SKIP kids decorated the plastic collection bins, and are placing them at local churches, within Bon Air Elementary School, and inside local businesses. You can donate at Buford Road Pharmacy, which has graciously allowed collection bins to be placed in their stores. Bon Air SKIP kids and parents will collect all of the donated books prior to our next meeting. In March, we will use our monthly meeting night to sort the books, package them with homemade bookmarks, and get them into the hands of kids. Our partners all provide assistance to elementary students currently, and will therefore help to distribute the books to families that can most use them. Bon Air Elementary SKIP is a youth community service club that meets monthly to carry out service projects in and outside of the Bon Air community. If you have questions about this project, or would like to know more about Bon Air Elementary SKIP, please check out www.richmondskips.org , or Service Kids in Progress (SKIP) on Facebook. If your organization would like to house one of our decorated bins and help the kids get more books to share, please e-mail Matt Fitzgerald at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or Jessica Forsythe at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The kids have made flyers and posters that we can provide as well, and we will regularly stop by to empty bins as needed.

Not me. Those may be the first words that come to mind if you're diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It isn't news anyone wants to hear. It's true—you will need to make some changes, but your life sure isn't over. And, with so many diabetes resources online and in your community, you don't have to go it alone.

First, it may help to get a little clearer about what diabetes is. Your body needs insulin to break down sugar (glucose) into energy. If you have type 2 diabetes, your body either doesn't have enough insulin or doesn't use it well. So glucose stays in your blood, causing problems.1

Medication Storage | February 2013

What’s the worst thing that can happen if you take a medication that is past its expiration date? The medicine will just be a little bit weak, right? Wrong. Although that’s true in most cases, some outdated medications can become toxic and actually make you sick.

Knowing how to store medications, as well as when and where to dispose of them safely, is just as important as knowing how and when to take your medications. Follow these tips and you’ll be on the right track.

Here we go again. It's another new year, and you know what that means. "New Year's" and "resolution" are about as inseparable as Jack and Jill or salt and pepper. So what's it gonna be this year? Eat less, exercise more, quit smoking, or spend more time with your family?

Earwax Basics | December 2012

Earwax. Great table topic, right? Maybe not, but earwax is a natural, normal part of your body. It helps clean and lubricate your ears. Without it, your ears would become dry and itchy and pretty uncomfortable.
